About Author Francis Felix Rosa
Francis Felix Rosa is an avid reader, conservationist, and emerging fiction writer. Originally hailing from Seabrook, New Hampshire, his short stories and prose have appeared online and in print in nearly a dozen professional literary magazines across the country. His writing is eclectic including works of literary fiction, dystopian fiction, science fiction, historical fiction, contemporary American fiction, horror, and more.

Francis has held dreams of writing since childhood. He first got his start as an author by channeling his obsession with monsters, the supernatural, and the mysterious into Cryptidpedia, a 300-page encyclopedic children’s book exploring all aspects of the unexplained. The book was written when he was just a teenager alongside his twin brother and co-author Lucas Rosa (now a professional MMA fighter known as Lucas “King of Monsters” Rosa). The book was professionally published in 2012 out of Exeter, New Hampshire, over a year before Francis graduated high school.
Francis and Lucas Rosa have regularly given presentations at schools in the New England seacoast area, showcasing their book, telling their story, and most importantly, talking with students about the process of writing and working towards one’s dreams.
After the success of Cryptidpedia, Francis went on to Massachusetts, graduating from Wheaton College with a BA in Creative Writing & Literature, and American Studies, along with a minor in Religion. In 2018, he was the recipient of Wheaton’s “Helen Meyers Tate Memorial Prize for Original Verse”.
Post-college, Francis spent several years volunteering with non-profits (including his own family’s) and serving three terms in AmeriCorps in various roles. He helped with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in the Coastal Bend of Texas, and became a sawyer participating in conservation efforts everywhere from Missouri to Montana. In 2020 he became a certified wildland firefighter and served in California, preparing Marin County for its upcoming fire season.
Many of these American adventures and wild experiences have directly influenced and inspired much of his work as a fiction writer. In 2021 Francis wrote “Constellation Kingdom” a work of prose based on his experience volunteering in the Chihuahuan Desert of West Texas. This prose was soon published by The Big Bend Literary Magazine, which then nominated it for Best of the Net, marking Francis’ first literary publication. In 2022 “The Aquanaut" became Francis’ first published short story, a nautical work of science fiction featured as part of an online web series by the museum of americana. Since then, he has continued to write and produce new short stories regularly.
A wandering New Englander, Francis currently resides in Green Bay, Wisconsin with his partner. In 2022, Francis became a crew lead during the inaugural year of the Green Bay Conservation Corps where he helped lead citywide efforts on everything from the implementation of rain gardens, to midnight frog surveys. In 2026 he was commissioned by the City of Green Bay to create a poem for one of the local libraries in celebration of National Poetry Month. His nature-themed haiku is currently displayed prominently at the Weyers-Hilliard Branch Library in Howard. He is a member of the Green Bay Writer’s Guild and hopes to continue chasing his dreams as he works toward a career as a short story writer and novelist.
